On the occasion of the visit to Georgia of President of the French Republic Mr François Hollande on May 13th, the Chambre of Commerce and Industry France-Georgia, the Georgian Co-Investment Fund and the Georgian National Investment Agency Invest in Georgia, in coordination with the French Embassy organises a
French-Georgian Economic Forum in Tbilisi.
As a gateway to the Caucasus region, Georgia ranks 8th in the Doing Business rating: its trade deficit sank by 9% in 2013 and during the same period there was an increasing by 56% of French export to Georgia. Thus, 2014 is an important landmark in the development of trade relations between France and Georgia, and the Economic Forum that will take place in Tbilisi on May 13th is an excellent means for French companies to discover the Georgian market and to promote there their know-how.
The event will take place on May 13th, 2014, from 1 p.m. at exhibition centre ExpoGeorgia in Tbilisi. It will be composed of roundtables focusing on different sectors of Georgian economy, such as Agriculture, Tourism, Transportation and Energy, and it will be a platform for discussion between French companies and representatives of the Georgian government. The closing of the Forum will be attended by French President Mr François Hollande and Prime Minister of Georgia Mr Irakli Garibashvili.
A roundtable reserved to companies of the French delegation, in presence of Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mr Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Minister of Energy Mr Kakha Kaladze, will take place in the closing of the forum.
